A (very) bare tutorial is included, reading you the basic controls.

Some features I'm proud of:

  • Option for toggle fire - good for achey joints, sore hands, and other difficulties
  • Turn off or reduce a lot of brighter/flashier features if you're sensitive to stimulus
  • You can remove the scrolling background to help with motion sickness
  • Turn on a contrast outline for the crosshair
  • Gamma and colorblind filters (not just cycling, but boosting and attenuating visible channels proportionate to the non-visible one)
  • Toggle or alter visual features in general - see what exactly "hit flashing" and "lights" are doing when you turn them off
  • A pixel-based point light and ambient light shader
  • A variety of weapons with different functionalities
  • Auto-leveling and pitching sounds based on how many sounds are currently playing
  • An extensive credits section, with links to pages for all artists whose assets I used in this project. And then some.
  • A pause menu, with scrollbars and checkboxes and everything!
  • Hidden feature: If you're holding F when you destroy an enemy, the game will pause to get a freeze-frame picture. You can press F at any time while paused to toggle the pause menu.

...I didn't say these were particularly amazing or new features. I'm just happy about what I accomplished from "scratch" within 4 weeks.
